Jan has been a professional artist for forty years with a teaching degree and further art study from U.S.C., Columbia, S.C..  She has participated previously in a gallery in Charleston, S.C., Wells Gallery at Kiawah Island,  Horton Hayes Gallery, Haywood Studio Tour, and Art at Laurel Ridge.  When Jan is not painting she enjoys golf, hiking, photography, and being with her family, her pet Coco, and her friends

“I paint on canvas using oils in my studios from photographs I take that inspire the outcomes of my paintings.  I also find that painting on location gives me the freshness and the correct light on the subject.  I constantly explore new techniques, colors, ideas by being able to learn from so many talented artists in workshops and tutorials around the country and abroad.  My paintings grace the homes and businesses in New York, Charleston, Kiawah Island, Charlotte, Asheville, Waynesville, and Niagara on the Lake, Canada.”
